I posted my first Medium article about traveling to the 2018 Special Olympics Summer Games as part of the Youth Leadership Summit taking place there.  I’m pretty excited to represent #TeamUtah along with my friend and fellow #YLE2018 ambassador Katie Hut.

 

 

I will be posting in social media during the event, and will be using the hashtags #BeFearlessBeKind #RiseWithUs #YLE2018. Some of the things we’ll be talking about during the event include:

• How to tell stories that connect
• Looking at different ways to turn schools into Special Olympics Unified Champion Schools
• Promoting clubs and services to grow inclusion
• Describe what inclusion looks like when it is genuine and meaningful
• Explore ways that students with and without disabilities can lead together
• Find different ways to bring schools together to take the pledge for the r-word
• Think about different ways that students with disabilities can be empowered
